Police report
Jan. 3: A complaint was filed in the 300 block of South Main Street regarding juvenile misconduct. An individual reported that someone had broken a side window on his vehicle in the 600 block of West Grand Avenue. Damages were estimated at $250. A search warrant was executed in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street. A fire alarm was activated at Tabor College.
Jan. 4: Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of East Grand Avenue. The Harvey County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with locating a subject. Lost property was located and returned to the owner. A civil process for the city was served. A burglary was reported in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street when someone entered a dorm room and removed several items sometime in December.
Jan. 5: A disorderly person was reported in City Hall. Assistance was provided to Marion Police Department with an investigation. A civil standby was provided in the 300 block of North Ash Street during a property dispute. A dog complaint was reported at Hillsboro Heights. An obstruction was removed from U.S. 56.
Jan. 6: Emergency medical services personnel received assistance with a call in the 600 block of North Ash Street. Assistance was also provided to Social and Rehabilitation Services personnel with an investigation. A civil matter was reported in the 700 block of East D Street regarding a utility service. An individual was reported transporting an open container of alcohol in the 800 block of East D Street. Hillsboro Fire Department received assistance with a residential fire in the 600 block of South Lincoln Street.
Thursday: A prowler was reported in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street. Newton Police Department and the Harvey County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with separate investigations.
Friday: An abandoned trailer was reported in the industrial park. A suspcious vehicle was checked in an alley in the 100 block of Wilson Street. An individual was rescued from an apartment in the 700 block of South Ash Street after becoming confused. Assistance was provided to Hillsboro Fire Department with a residential fire in the 300 block of North Jefferson Street. A motorist received assistance.
Saturday: A water leak was reported in the 300 block of South Jefferson Street. Vehicles in the 400 block of West Grand Avenue and the 500 block of South Lincoln streets struck two gas meters. A child custody dispute was reported in the 300 block of South Birch Street. An adult female was arrested in the 300 block of North Jefferson Street on outstanding warrants. An activated commercial alarm was checked at Hillsboro Heights.
