Police report

Dec. 6: An individual reported that someone had taken items from his dorm room in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street. Assistance was provided to Emporia Police Department with an investigation of a possible rape that may have occurred in Hillsboro involving a victim from Emporia. The case remains under investigation by Hillsboro Police Department.

Dec. 7: Marion Police Department received assistance with an investigation. An individual reported suspicious activity on a computer. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with a dog bite victim being treated at Hillsboro Community Hospital.

Dec. 8: Marion County Attorney received assistance with a civil process. An individual reported that several other individuals had entered his property and had threatened him in the 300 block of West Grand Avenue. The individuals accused of trespassing claimed that the reporting party had actually made the threats. Assistance was provided to Kansas Bureau of Investigation with an investigation. A residence received assistance when locked out of property in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A domestic disturbance in the 300 block of North Ash Street was determined to be a verbal dispute between adult siblings. A reckless driver was reported at D and Ash streets.

Dec. 9: A dog complaint was filed in the 500 block of South Main Street. Assistance with an investigation was provided to the county attorney.

Dec. 10: A hit-and-run accident was reported in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street. Walton Police Department received assistance with an investigation. A parking complaint was filed at Lincoln and B streets. An individual reported that someone had stolen cash from her wallet in the 500 block of West Grand Avenue. Haysville Police Department received assistance with an investigation.

Dec. 11: The county attorney received assistance with a civil process. Suspicious activity was reported in the 500 block of West Grand Avenue. Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s department with a civil process. Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services received assistance with a child abuse investigation. Hillsboro City Council packets were delivered. An individual reported a lost wallet.

Dec. 12: Suspicious activity was reported in Hillsboro Industrial Park. An individual reported a broken waterline in the 400 block of South Lincoln Street. A parking complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Lincoln Street. Emergency Medical Services personnel received assistance in the 200 block of South Lincoln Street.

Dec. 13: Officers qualified on the shooting range. A dog complaint was reported in the 300 block of South Ash Street. A traffic complaint was filed at D and Ash streets.

Dec. 14: An individual reported that an acquaintance had kicked her car following an argument in the 300 block of North Ash Street. Damage was estimated at $1,125 and charges are pending. A dog complaint was reported in the 200 block of South Main Street. The county attorney received assistance with an investigation.

Dec. 15: A stranded motorist on K-15 received assistance. Kansas Bureau of Investigation received assistance with an investigation. An individual reported that someone forced entry into a dealership garage in the 400 block of South Date Street and removed two diagnostic scanners and stole a 2009 truck. The loss was estimated at $52,000. A telephone harassment complaint was reported when someone kept calling a cell phone number. Suspicious phone calls also were reported in the 500 block of West D Street. It was determined that the calls were coming from outside of the U.S.

Dec. 16: Hillsboro Fire Department received assistance in the 400 block of South Lincoln Street. A suspicious vehicle was checked at Hillsboro Heights. Assistance was provided to the city inspector. Kansas Bureau of Investigation received assistance with an interview. The sheriff’s department received assistance with a fire in Lehigh.

Dec. 17: Officers testified in a court trial. A dog complaint was filed in the 500 block of East D Street. A suspicious vehicle was checked on D Street.

Dec. 18: Newton Police Department received assistance with locating a domestic violence suspect who lives in Hillsboro. A welfare check was provided in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street. Assistance was provided to the Brown County Sheriff’s Department and the Hill City Police Department with investigations. Emergency medical services received assistance with a call in the 800 block of East D Street. A dog complaint was filed in the 200 block of South Main Street.

Dec. 19: A civil standby was provided. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of North Main Street.
