Nov. 7: A bicycle was reported stolen in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street. A driver received assistance after being locked in a fenced compound in the industrial park. A traffic complaint was checked at A and Adams streets.
Nov. 8: A harassment complaint was reported in the 400 block of West Grand Avenue when a person was harassed online by someone with a protection from abuse order. Officers attended evidence training given by the coroner’s office. A possible drunk driver was checked in the 300 block of North Ash Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 400 block of South Main Street. Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s with a possible burglary in progress. A bicycle was reported stolen in the 300 block of South Birch Street; the bicycle was later recovered in the 300 block of North Birch Street. An abandoned bicycle was recovered in the 300 block of North Main Street.
Nov. 9: Vandalism was reported in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street, when someone reported his vehicle had been spray painted while parked at Tabor College. A child welfare concern was investigated in the 400 block of South Main Street. Assistance with an investigation was provided to Social and Rehabilitative Services. Several bicycles were registered. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of North Main Street.
Nov. 10: A large, dead animal was removed from the road at D and Washington streets. A child was taken into police protective custody in the 400 block of South Main Street; the child was considered in need of care and has temporarily been placed in foster care. A bicycle was stolen from Tabor College. Officers participated in Taser certification training.
Thursday: A child was reported missing in the 200 block of North Main Street and was located at a neighbor’s residence. Traffic control was provided for a semi stuck across a road in the 500 block of North Adams Street. An individual reported a wooden chair was taken from the porch of the Schaeffler House Museum. A traffic accident was reported on Washington Street; damage was minor and did not require a report. A dead coyote was left on the front porch of a house in the 300 block of South Ash Street. A harassment complaint was filed in the 200 block of North Ash Street.
Friday: The sheriff’s office received assistance with cattle on a road. A phone scam attempt was reported. A child custody dispute was checked in the 800 block of East A Street. A possible sexual harassment complaint was reported in the 500 block of East Grand Avenue. Hillsboro City Council packets were delivered. Assistance was provided to El Dorado police department with an arrest warrant. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of North Main Street.
Saturday: A dog complaint was filed in the 200 block of South Cedar Street. Someone was reported yelling at Lincoln and First streets; an individual was located and transported home by an officer. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of South Main Street.
