Police Report

Nov. 15: An individual reported that her purse and contents were taken from a church in the 100 block of South Washington Street while she attended services. The loss was valued at $45. Assistance was provided with the removal of a dead deer on U.S. 56.

Nov. 16: A theft was reported in the 300 block of North Washington Street when someone reported a large pumpkin was taken from his front porch. An abandoned vehicle in the 500 block of South Wilson Street was towed. A parking complaint was checked in the 500 block of South Wilson Street. A suspicious person was reported in the alley of the 200 block of South Main Street. A pit bull was reported in the 300 block of South Ash Street. The owner was ordered to remove the dog from city limits. An abandoned vehicle was reported stuck in mud south of Wiens Stadium.

Nov. 18: A harassment complaint was filed in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. A vicious pit bull was reported in the 700 block of East D Street and the owner was ordered to remove dog from city limits. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with an investigation. An individual reported being harassed by another individual who had been ordered not to have contact with the person.

Thursday: A purse was taken from the back room of a business in the 300 block of North Ash Street or it fell out of a jacket and taken from a parking lot. A 14-year-old runaway was picked up along K-15. The juvenile had walked away from school and was walking to Beloit. Officers assisted school officials with a student who had been using a school computer for illicit purposes. Motorists received assistance at Ash and D street and in the 300 block of North Ash Street. Officers attended traffic accident investigation training.

Friday: A suspicious person was checked in the 500 block of East Grand Avenue. A K-9 unit assisted Goessel Police Department in searching a vehicle. A business proprietor in the 500 block of East D Street reported an adult female had shoplifted on two occasions and her actions were videotaped. A suspicious person was checked in the 800 block of East D Street. A semi trailer was reported sinking in mud in the 200 block of North Ash Street. A domestic disturbance was investigated in the 200 block of South Date Street. Both parties reported being assaulted by the other. An individual who had temporary custody of a child reported finding possible signs of physical abuse. Officers took the child to a physician for an examination.

Saturday: Emergency medical services personnel received assistance in the 200 block of South Wilson Street. Reckless driving was reported on U.S. 56. Two trespassing incidents were reported in the 400 block of North Ash Street and the 300 block of West Grand Avenue. Officers found college students playing games.
