Nov. 1: A noise complaint was reported in the 100 block of South Jefferson Street. A motorist received assistance in the 400 block of North Ash Street. Assistance was provided to the Scott’s Bluff, Neb., Police Department.

Nov. 2: A theft was reported in the 800 block of West A Street when a large pumpkin was taken. Vandalism in the 700 block of West Grand Avenue was determined to be a civil matter when a former tenant reportedly damaged property. Motorists received assistance at D and Lincoln streets and on U.S. 56. An abandoned vehicle was checked in the 400 block of West B Street.

Nov. 3: A door-to-door salesman was reported selling without a permit. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. An abandoned vehicle was checked in the 500 block of South Wilson Street. An individual reported being stalked by a male acquaintance. Items were reportedly thrown at a vehicle at Hillsboro High School.

Nov. 4: Charges are pending after a store clerk at Hillsboro Heights reported a female patron stole several items. A “pocket bike,” a small scooter, was reported stolen, possibly while his vehicle was being repossessed. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with an injury accident.

Nov. 5: Assistance was provided to a motorist at Ash and D streets. Harassing phone calls were reported in the 100 block of North Washington Street. A parking complaint was filed at C and Adams streets. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes.

Nov. 6: Damages, suspected to be caused by an angry student, were reported at Hillsboro High School. Lost property was returned to the owner. An individual reported that a juvenile had displayed a knife after becoming angry. A door-to-door salesman was reported selling without a permit. A noise complaint was filed in the 200 block of South Washington Street.

Nov. 7: Officers assisted with annual Toy Run. Two residents in the 300 block of South Ash Street each claimed the other was harassing them. A suicidal subject in the 400 block of North Ash Street was transported to a mental health facility. A domestic disturbance was reported in the 600 block of South Washington Street but was determined to be only a verbal confrontation. An individual reported an intoxicated male was trespassing on her property in the 200 block of North Lincoln Street and then would leave when the police were called. Later, the individual’s truck was reported stolen but the victim refused to press charges when it was recovered.

Nov. 8: Response was given to an activated commercial alarm in Hillsboro Industrial Park. Officers participated in firearms training. A parking complaint was filed in the 200 block of North Lincoln Street. Wichita Police Department received assistance with an investigation.

Nov. 9: Officers attended safety training at city hall. An individual reported a lost or stolen purse. Response was given to an activated commercial alarm in the 300 block of North Ash Street.

Nov. 10: A suspicious vehicle was checked in the 200 block of North Ash Street. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A harassment complaint was filed in the 200 block of West Grand Avenue. Shoplifting was reported by a business at Hillsboro Heights. Individuals reported finding chips in a vehicle window in the 400 block of South Ash Street, and suspected of being caused by a pellet gun. Peabody Police Department received assistance with a gas skip. Assistance was provided to Kansas Highway Patrol with an injury accident. A possible drunk driver was reported in the 800 block of East D Street.

Nov. 11: Reckless driving was checked on U.S. 56. A dog complaint was reported at Main and Grand streets.

Thursday: Response was given to an activated commercial alarm in the 900 block of East D Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A dog complaint was filed in the 200 block of South Ash Street. An individual reported that his laptop computer was stolen from his dormitory room in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street. The loss was estimated at $1,500. A report was made of hunters on city property east of Hillsboro. An out-of-control juvenile was reported in the 500 block of South Adams Street and transported to Junction City.

Friday: Officers qualified on the firearms range. A vagrant was reported when an individual was picked up for hitchhiking and transported to Hillsboro. A motorist received assistance in the 400 block of North Ash Street.

Saturday: The sheriff’s department received assistance when suspicious activity was reported south of Hillsboro. A door-to-door salesman was reported selling without a permit. A possible shoplifter was reported in the 500 block of East D Street. A curfew violation was reported in Memorial Park.
