Police report

July 10: A dog complaint was checked at Ash and Willow streets. A dog bite occurred in the 100 block of North Cedar Street. A motorist received assistance in the 400 block of North Ash Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of North Main Street.

July 11: A protection from abuse violation was reported in the 200 block of South Date Street. Bicycles were registered at the police office. A stolen bicycle was recovered at Tabor College. A disturbance was reported in the 400 block of South Main Street. A harassment complaint was reported in the 100 block of North Birch Street. A parking complaint was checked in the 300 block of South Ash Street.

July 12: A dog complaint was checked in the 300 block of North Ash Street. A non-injury accident was investigated in the 500 block of South Ash Street. A child was reportedly out-of-control at a camp at Hillsboro Elementary School. A harassment complaint was reported in the 300 block of South Main Street.

July 13: A burglary was reported at a residence in the 200 block of West Grand Avenue; someone forcibly entered the residence and removed coins stored in a bottle. A dog complaint was checked in the 300 block of South Birch Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 500 block of North Ash Street.

Thursday: An individual reported receiving harassing phone calls. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A dog complaint was checked in the 300 block of North Ash Street. A complaint about a chicken and a turkey was reported in the 300 block of South Washington Street. A motorist received assistance in the 600 block of North Ash Street.

Friday: An individual from out of state reported being harassed by a Hillsboro citizen. A suspicious person was checked in the 200 block of East First Street. A domestic disturbance in the 300 block of North Lincoln Street resulted in a Hillsboro man being arrested for battery and booked into the Marion County Jail. An unauthorized vehicle was reported in the sports complex. A 911 disconnect at Tabor College was checked. Hillsboro City Council packets were delivered. An intoxicated female harassed her neighbor in the 300 block of North Main Street. Children were reportedly throwing debris into a city pond. A domestic disturbance in the 200 block of North Lincoln Street was determined to be a verbal disagreement.

Saturday: Suspicious activity was reported in the 100 block of South Lincoln Street. Two 911 disconnects at Tabor College and a parking complaint at Ash and B streets were checked. A credit card was turned in and was returned to the owner. A motorist received assistance in Industrial Park.
