Sept. 30: A harassment complaint was filed; the person said she was being harassed through text messages.

Oct. 1: Officers assisted city hall with a peddler’s permit. A harassment complaint was filed; an out-of-town person reported being harassed by a Hillsboro resident. Officers investigated a report of a subject trying to enter an empty apartment in the 900 block of East D Street; officers also found suspicious activity at the Hillcrest motel believed to be associated with an accused individual; the subject was previously reported attempting to steal a fountain drink from a business in the same area.

Oct. 2: Vehicle trespass was reported in the 300 block of South Wilson Street; a person reported that someone had entered their vehicle and looked through it. A person reported a possible drunk driver and suspicious person in the 600 block of North Ash Street. A damage report was taken in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street; a person reported damage to a large window. A domestic disturbance was reported in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street; it was a verbal dispute between a male and female. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of North Wilson Street. A person reported finding an open door at a residence that should have been vacant.

Oct. 3: A domestic disturbance was reported in the 200 block of West Grand Avenue; a person reported being assaulted by a live-in boyfriend; charges are pending against a Hillsboro man.

Oct. 4: A burglary was reported in the 200 block of East First Street; a person reported someone had stolen items from her residence while she was away; the items had been taken as part of a landlord and tenant dispute and were returned upon request. There was a report of a suspicious person going door to door on South Wilson Street. A hit-and-run injury accident was reported in the 700 block of North Main Street. A sexual assault of a child visiting Hillsboro was reported; the case is still under investigation.

Oct. 5: A person reported someone had stolen his or her medication. A harassment complaint was taken in the 400 block of North Ash Street.
