Police report

Hillsboro police released the following information:

Oct. 3: A welfare check was provided at Tabor College. Assistance was provided to a sheriff’s deputy with an injury accident. Emergency Medical Services received assistance with a call on Park Lane. Peabody police received assistance with an investigation.

Oct. 4: Assistance was provided to the fire department with a call in the 200 block of West Second Street. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A sheriff’s deputy received assistance with a non-injury accident. Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks personnel received assistance with an investigation. A disturbance was reported in the 500 block of East First Street, when two neighbors were yelling at each other. Assistance was provided with the removal of road debris on 190th Road. EMS received assistance with a call in the 200 block of South Washington Street.

Oct. 5: Fireworks were reportedly discharged near Tabor College. A sheriff’s deputy received assistance in locating a runaway juvenile. Officers assisted with “Big Truck Night” at Hillsboro Elementary School.

Oct. 6: An officer attended taser training and intoxilyzer training. A funeral escort was provided. An animal welfare concern was investigated in the 100 block of South Birch Street. A trespassing complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Main Street when an individual entered a property after being told not to. Assistance with traffic control was provided to a utility company when power lines were installed across Ash Street. A camper hook-up was activated at Memorial Park. The theft of a global positioning system from a vehicle, valued at $180, was reported in the 300 block of Kennedy Street; the incident occurred sometime within the past several weeks. A child welfare concern was investigated in the 300 block of North Ash Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 200 block of North Main Street.

Thursday: Suspicious activity was checked in the 500 block of East A Street. Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services received assistance with an investigation. A dog complaint in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street was reported. Assistance was provided to a sheriff’s deputy with an alleged driving-under-the-influence incident on U.S. 56.

Friday: Suspicious activity was reported in the 300 block of Floral Drive. An abandoned bicycle was located in the 200 block of South Washington Street. A disturbance in the 400 block of South Main Street was reported, when parents were yelling at their children. Lost property was returned to the owner.
