Hillsboro places 6th in tennis tournament

Hillsboro placed sixth outof nine tennis teams Saturdayat Smoky Valley.
Violet Klein and Cassidy Bernhardt were fourth in doubles. Annalise Jorgensen placed fifth in singles.
“Unfortunately, since the tournament was played at two different sites, I was unable to give her (Jorgensen) the support she needed in her first round match, as I was at the other site with our No. 1 doublesteam,” coach John Rudersaid. “As the only coach, I am forced to make the difficult decision of where I will be during the match. However, she played exceptionally well in her finaltwo matches.”
Claire Morey and MayleeHardey finished seventh fordoubles.
“The girls played hard and fought for every point, playing very close games. I look forward to seeing how they perform in our regional tournament on Friday,” Ruder said.
Regionals will be Friday and Saturday at a location to be determined.
