Hillsboro board approves new member

Hillsboro school board approved appointing Sarah Fenske to the board Monday evening.

She began serving immediately.

She replaces Tim Kaufman, who resigned in April for health reasons.

The board also approved price increases for meals.

Breakfast for preschool to 12th grade will go up 10 cents to $2.20. Lunch for preschool to fifth grade will go up 10 cents to $2.95. Lunch for sixth to 12th grades will go up 10 cents to $3.20.

Reduced-price breakfast and lunch will remain the same.

Breakfast for adults will go up 25 cents to $3.05.

Lunch for staff will go up 35 cents to $4.20, and lunch for adults will go up 35 cents to $4.85. Lunch for child visitors will go up 15 cents to $3.20.
