Alco to close

All 198 Alco locations across 23 states, including the Hillsboro store, are closing, the company announced Thursday.

U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Dallas approved the order for the retail chain to conduct “Going Out of Business” sales, which begin Friday.

“This event will offer consumers in Alco’s small-town markets a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get extraordinary discounts,” COO of SB Capital Group Scott Bernstein said.

According to a news release, the sale will continue until all merchandise has been sold.
