High jumpers tie, throwers finish together at state track

Peabody-Burns track athletes doubled up Friday and Saturday in events at the state high school track meet in Wichita. Seth Topham and Braxton Kyle both qualified for high jump from regional performances, while Lucas Larsen and Corbin Rives represented the Warriors in javelin competition.

Topham and Kyle both cleared 5 feet, 10 inches in high jump and tied for seventh place, sharing a spot on the medal stand. 

Larsen finished in ninth place with a javelin throw of 144 feet, 8 inches, making finals but missed a medal by one spot.  Rives threw 143 feet, 2 inches and finished just behind his teammate in 10th place.
