Living in a small community the old saying “everybody knows everybody” could definitely be used to describe Peabody. So, a lot of you probably already know me or of me but, for those that do not let me introduce myself.
My name is Paige Barnes, daughter of Erik and JoLonna Barnes or granddaughter of John and Cora Bloomer. This year I will be a junior at Peabody-Burns Jr./Sr. High School. Now I’m sure this may have turned on the light bulb for many, but for those of you still in the dark I can give one last hint. At times I am also just referred to as “you know that tall blond-headed girl who works at the grocery store?”
Well, if none of this has helped and you’re still wondering who the heck I am and why I am babbling on it’s a pleasure to meet you. I hope you soon will find these questions answered in future issues of the Peabody Gazette-Bulletin where I am going to be a contributing writer. Therefore, the sole purpose of this introduction is just a warning so keep watching for my name!
Whereas most people my age still are not sure what kind of career they want, I am lucky enough to think I already have found my niche. One word … communications.
This broad subject covers many areas, but for me it means I get to talk, whether on paper or in conversation, and this is how I get my point across.
For that reason, this is me getting my feet wet and experience under my belt. I hope to bring you news, laughter, and maybe wisdom in my subsequent articles. Maybe if I am lucky, I might impress a few weekly readers.
