Homemaker and Marion County native Helen R. Jantz died March 24 at Sunrise Assisted Living Center, Overland Park, Kansas.

She was born to Jacob and Ruth (Propp) Wunsch on Oct. 15, 1924, in Clark Township, Marion County.

On July 24, 1944, she married Martin Jantz. She worked as a clerk at Van’s Department Store.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; siblings, Marvin Wunsch and Kathleen McCann; and a granddaughter, Mariah Chestnut.

She is survived by her two children,  Michael Jantz of Arkansas City, and Jan Bell of Olathe; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Viewing was Friday at Zeiner Funeral Home. A funeral service was Saturday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion. Interment was in the Marion Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established for Eastmoor United Methodist Church.
