Heath Baker, 89, of Peabody, died May 27.
Born Feb. 3, 1920, in Peabody to Paul and Vivien Baker, he graduated from Peabody High School in 1938, and attended Baker University and the University of Kansas.
After graduation in 1942, he joined the Navy and served in the Pacific, where he captained a supply vessel in the Solomon Islands.
He spent 20 years with a department store in Chicago, later relocating to Los Angeles. He moved to Belleville then returned to Peabody and lived at Legacy Park.
His parents, brother Hoyt, and sister Carol Foote preceded him in death.
Survivors include brothers Ross of Peabody and Paul Jr. of Pensacola, Fla.
A family gravesite service is planned in July at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
Memorials may be made to Peabody Historical Society.
