H1N1 vaccine now available

At long last, the H1N1 vaccine is available to anyone who wants to receive it.

Marion County Health Department, 230 E. Main St., Marion, will have walk-in clinics from 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. every Wednesday beginning Jan. 6 for the H1N1 vaccine.

There is no charge for the service and no appointment is needed.

There are two forms of vaccines -- a nasal spray and shot.

Vaccines have been administered to most school-age children in the county and other high-risk residents.

All residents are encouraged by Kansas Department of Health and Environment to receive the vaccine now that it is available.

The potentially deadly illness has claimed 23 lives in Kansas so far.
