Grandparents Christmas dinner coming to PBES

Grandparents of Peabody-Burns Elementary School students are invited to attend a Christmas dinner and activity with their grandchildren Dec. 17 in the multi-purpose room of the grade school.

“And we hope no one feels left out of this activity because they don’t have a grandchild at PBES,” said principal Ken Parry. “We have a lot of children here who would LOVE to adopt a grandparent for the day.

“People just need to sign up by the deadline and we will be sure they have a ‘grandchild’ for the annual dinner and activity,” he added.

The cost of the dinner is $3 per person and reservations need to be in by Dec. 5th.

Preschool students will participate in their classroom with morning session students hosting grandparents from 10 to 11 a.m. and afternoon students hosting them from 1 to 2 p.m.

Second, third, and fourth graders and their grandparents will have lunch in the multi-purpose room from 11:10 to 11:45 a.m. followed by an activity from 11:50 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Kindergarten and first grade students will share an activity from 11:30 to 11:55 a.m. and then eat with their grandparents from 11:55 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Fifth and sixth graders also will have an activity before lunch, from 12:10 to 12:35 p.m. They will enjoy Christmas dinner with their grandparents from 12:40 to1:15 p.m.
