Government commodities to arrive Wednesday

Government surplus commodities will arrive Wednesday at senior centers across Marion County.

Each site will distribute commodities according to its own schedule and may not distribute on the same day.

Patrons should check their local sites for a distribution schedule.

Lehigh residents need to pick up commodities at Main St. Ministries in Hillsboro, and Lincolnville residents should get theirs at Marion Senior Center.

Marion Senior Center will distribute commodities Feb. 12.

Household size and income determine which patrons are eligible to receive commodities.

To receive commodities, a one-person household must make $1,265 or less a month, a two-person household $1,705 or less, a three-person household $2,144 or less, a four-person household $2,584 or less, a five-person $3,024, and for each additional family member add $440 to determine maximum eligible income.

If there are no commodities left at your site, please call Marion County Department on Aging, at (620) 382-3580 to find out where commodities are available.
