GOLF: Golfers shooting for 80s

In his 25th season as golf coach for Hillsboro High School, Scott O’Hare is accompanied by top returning golfers Bryant Dalke and Lincoln Wichert from last season.
Sophomore Wichert is the only team member returning off of a varsity team that qualified for state.
Other key players potentially stepping up at the varsity level are Josh Siebert, Annaliese Jorgenson, and Owen Dalke.
“Probably the biggest challenge will be the size of the squad and variety of experience and ability levels,” O’Hare said. “It will be a challenge to manage practices and find ways to get each golfer the amount of individual instruction time they need to help them improve in all areas of the game,.”
Goals include putting together a varsity team of four to six golfers who can shoot scores in the 80s or low 90s.
“I will be challenging the varsity group to set a goal to post team scores under 350,” he said.
