Goessel musicians honored

More than 35 high school and junior high students from Goessel earned regional band and choir honors with selection into top South Central Kansas Music Educators Association groups.

Goessel students earning band recognition in grades 9 through 12 included Mark Schmidt, Georgia Thiesen, Grant Flaming, Erin Brubaker, Jake Herrel, Alicen Meysing, Reece Hiebert, Zach Wiens, and Ben Wiens.

Goessel Junior High band honors went to Shelbi Stultz, Lanna Wagner, Tiana Base, Eden Hiebert, Olivia Duerksen, and Colton Lare.

High school students earning choir honors were Page Hiebert, Tyler Schulz, Alyssa Booton, Anna Wiens, Makayla King, Sarah Booth, and Gentry Thiesen.

Goessel Junior High students attending the SCKMEA choir festival Nov. 3 included Jennifer Meysing, Riley Jarvis, Autumn Strecker, Kaytlin Shipp, Joshua Schmidt, Miguel Guerrero, Kenny Hammond, Rhett Makovec, Audessi Unruh, Stephany Meyer, Julianna Schrag,, Kendall Hiebert, Nathaniel Dudte, and Christopher Strecker.
