Gloria Potter

Services for Gloria Jean (Wodke) Potter, 68, Marion, who died Saturday at St. Luke Living Center, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Marion Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Strong City Cemetery in Strong City.

Visitation with family will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls.

Born Dec. 23, 1948, to Leland “Bud” and Lola M. (Galemore) Wodke in Austin, Texas, she graduated from Council Grove High School in 1966. She and Floyd Lee Potter were married May 25, 1968, in Council Grove.

She owned and operated Wagon Wheel Café in Strong City for more than 20 years. She made ceramics, crocheted, camped, biked, swam, and fished. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Strong City.

Gloria is survived by son Brian Potter of Strong City; daughter Lori Wheeler of Marion; sister Patricia Blount of Council Grove; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Brenda Kahle.

A memorial has been established with American Diabetes Association.
