Girls struggle for stability
Lose to Elyria 44-10
Difficulties in handling pressure from Elyria plagued Peabody-Burns girls’ basketball members the entire game Friday. They lost 44-10.
“We need to see the importance of taking care of the ball every possession and having confidence in ourselves, otherwise results won’t change,” coach Travis Schafer said.
Illness running through the district played a key role in preparing for the game.
“We only had four to five players at practice this week,” he said. “It’s hard to match the intensity and pressure in practice with only eight girls.”
Scoring summary: Mia Winter, 6; Kaete Johnson and Sydney Hodges, 2 each.
Boys
The boys’ team lost 50-24. No other information was available.
