The first girls’ golf team in the history of Centre High School will feature nine players. Six were on the spring co-ed golf team.
Those who played on the spring team were juniors Allison Basore and Kristin Vinduska and sophomores Raeanne Bryant, Rebecca Reneau, Karoline Chizek, and Hannah Peterson.
Valerie Craney, Cassidy Hill, and Kaitlin Brunner are the other team members.
Coach Greg Wyatt said the main reason for forming the team was to give girls a level playing field, competing against other girls.
Wyatt expects Basore and Vinduska to be leaders on the team. They have the most experience, having played a lot of varsity in the spring.
