Girl Scouts raised money for projects

Peabody-Burns Junior and Cadette Girl Scout troops are having fundraisers to raise money for camp and projects.

They will have a concession stand Thursday at the Peabody swimming pool. They also will have a car and dog wash July 20, a yard sale July 27, and a dessert silent auction June 28. They also are collecting aluminum cans.

Anyone who wishes to donate items to the yard sale can contact troop leaders Tina Spencer at (620) 381-1511 or Lindsay Hutchison at (316) 390-0297.

Their campouts will be July 5 and 6 at the county lake, July 14 to 17 at Syracuse, and Aug. 7 to 11 at Branson, Mo.

They will begin working on bronze and silver award projects after the camping trips. The bronze award is the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn. The silver award is the highest award a Cadette can earn. Both require completion of a service project that will make a lasting effect.
