Florence doubles employee sick days
Florence employees now will earn one sick day a month, more than double what they had been receiving.
Before the change was approved at Monday’s council meeting, employees received five sick days a year. Employees would have needed two years’ worth of sick days to abide by quarantine requirements, councilman Matt Williams said.
“With the new climate of allowing people to stay home, if you’re expecting them to stay home two weeks, how does that work,” he said.
To date, no Florence employees have had to enter quarantine or isolation.
