Students and adults in Florence will have a new recreation option on the third Saturday of each month as the Florence Chess Club gets up and running in the community.

Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome, recreation director Holly Pereillo said.

The chess club will meet from 10 a.m. to noon at 726 Marion Street in Florence. The building formerly housed the Catholic school and is across the street from the Catholic Church.
