Flaked-out audio can't stop flurry of tune

Staff writer

The show must go on.

That’s exactly what Marion third through fifth graders did when the sound system for Monday’s concert at the Performing Arts Center failed as the show began.

The concert was presented a cappella instead of accompanied by a bed of music.

The kids gave lively renditions of several songs to a packed house of parents and grandparents.

Two of the songs had special touches.

A combined choir sang, and signed, “There Is Hope in the Air This Christmas.”

The concert finale, “Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!” was accompanied by paper snow tossed into the air at the end of the number.

Third graders sang “The Christmas Season,” “Eight Little Candles,” and “When the Holidays Come.”

Fourth graders sang “Still, Still, Still,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “Winter Fantasy.”

Fifth graders sang “Stressed,” “Glow,” and “In December.”

A combined choir sang “There Is Hope in the Air This Christmas,” “White Christmas,” and “Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow.”
