FFA week events are scheduled
FFA week is this week.
Peabody-Burns FFA students had an appreciation breakfast Monday at Peabody-Burns High School for friends and sponsors.
Tuesday was “Drive an implement to school” day. Some of the students paraded tractors down Walnut Street at lunchtime.
FFA members will host a lunch in the shop 11a.m. to 1 p.m. today for alumni and friends of FFA.
On Thursday, students and teachers will participate in Ag Olympics at 2:40 p.m. outdoors or in the agriculture shop, depending on the weather. The public is invited to attend.
The annual work auction is Friday beginning with a complimentary meal at 6:30 p.m. in the shop. This year 14 students and their instructor will sell eight hours of labor each.
In addition, some members will be selling products they have worked on as part of their vocational agriculture classes. Zac Goodwin will sell a 3-point round bale spear. Nick Morgan will sell 20 started, home-bred black sexlink pullets, each a month old, along with some young roosters and a few chicks. Also for sale will be a small lawn trailer and other projects.
