FFA party is a big hit

The Peabody-Burns FFA chapter hosted a back-to-school bash Sept. 6 at the municipal swimming pool. Invited guests included alumni, parents, FFA members, and any student enrolled in agricultural education.

Guests swam from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A watermelon feed followed the swimming. Watermelons were donated by Jarrod Gaines.

New FFA sponsor and vocational education instructor Ty LaRue was enthusiastic about the event.

“We appreciate all the folks that joined us for our back to school party,” he said. “The members of the chapter, parents, and guests all said they had a great time.”
