FFA officers attend convention

This past summer the Peabody-Burns FFA chapter officers Zac Goodwin, president; Justin Remple, vice president; Ashley Weems, secretary; Derek Schmidt, sentinel; and Heather Brooks, treasurer participated in leadership camps.

In June they attended the FFA State Convention. The five members participated in career fairs, ceremonies, and business meetings. Goodwin and Remple participated in the delegation process.

In early July the five went to State Conference for Chapter Leaders. They participated in workshops learning how to better fulfill their office obligations as chapter leaders. They learned new motivational skills and new ways to grow in leadership.

Goodwin had the pleasure of taking his handcrafted motor stand and rabbits to the Kansas State Fair. He received reserve champion in micro mechanics for the motor stand. Micro mechanics is any mechanical project built for less than $149.

He also received reserve grand champion rabbit showmanship in the senior class.
