Festival visitors, vendors fill streets

The weather Saturday was exceptional for the first Peabody Fall Festival and organizer Ginger Whitney said everything turned out very well.

The planning committee considered the event a success.

“Everything turned out wonderfully,” Whitney said. “The community was so supportive.”

Festival goers had 24 vendors, 12 non-profit organizations and three food services to peruse.

Booths on both sides of the street offered a plethora of items: food, information, clothing, crocheted items, home-canned goods, scents, homemade item, crafts, to name a few.

Live music played throughout the day, entertaining the crowd as they shopped and played.

Whitney said the crowd size was good and the shuttle going back and forth to Affordable Street Rods’ open house ran smoothly. Owners Rex and Annette Watson said participation in their open house met or exceeded their expectations.
