Fern Timm

Fern I. Timm, 90, died March 4, 2012, at Herington Municipal Hospital. She was born April 5, 1923, on the family farm near Aulne to Clee and Tressie (Blankley) Ford.

She graduated from Marion High School in 1938. She married Merle Timm on June 1, 1948.

She was a switchboard operator and later a receptionist for Herington Municipal Hospital and various local family physicians.

She was preceded in death by her husband Merle in 1999; one sister, Ruby Linnens; and four brothers, William, Jerome, Leslie, and Dalphas Ford.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Idleman and Kathy Biehler, both of Herington; one sister, Elizabeth Koegeboehn of Council Grove; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Doris Ford of Marion is her sister-in-law.

Visitation was from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion and at noon until service time today at Herington United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., with Pastor Bill Peterson officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery in Herington.

Memorial funds have been established for Dickinson County Hospice and Herington Municipal Hospital, in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion KS 66861.
