Fashion show highlights October meeting

Sorosis Beta members met at Indian Guide for their October meeting. President Carolyn Rowland welcomed the many guests and members.

Diane Glaser introduced the program given by Nancy Klaassen of Nancy’s Fashions in Hillsboro. Nancy talked about going to market to shop for items her customers would enjoy wearing. She then had several outfits from her store modeled by some of the Sorosis Beta members. She showed the group how to change the look of an outfit by changing a jacket or using jewelry or scarves.

Following the program, delicious apple cake was served by co-hostesses Arlene Moffett and Pat Henderson to 15 guests and 12 members.

The members then had a meeting which was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the club collect.

Virginia Skinner and Marilyn Cox were welcomed as new members with the presentation of a carnation by Carolyn. Pat Henderson read devotions.

The May and September minutes were read and approved. Marquetta Eilerts gave the treasurer’s report. In old business, Marquetta talked about the Main Street sign project. It was decided to power coat and not paint, as the power coat will last the longest.

The next meeting will be Nov. 20 at Legacy Park with a program on CPR. Janie Hodges won a door prize.

Carolyn closed the meeting by have the members read the club pledge.
