Faith Maughan appointed district judge

Former Peabody resident and Peabody-Burns High School graduate Faith Maughan has been appointed to fill a district judge position by Gov. Sam Brownback.

She will fill a vacancy in the 18th Judicial District in Sedgwick County, created when Anthony Powell was appointed to the Kansas Court of Appeals.

Maughan is a judge for the city of Colwich and serves as city prosecutor for Cheney, Maize, and Park City.

Maughan is a 1989 graduate of PBHS. She attended Washburn University where she earned undergraduate and law degrees.
