Error page replaces Hillsboro website

Hillsboro’s city website was replaced by a privacy error or “this site can’t be reached” page Friday if visitors managed to get it in a Google search at all.
City administrator Matt Stiles said the technical difficulties were caused by renewal of the website’s security certificate.
“We noticed it right away because it kept kicking us out, and that security certificate was installed that same day,” he said.
City staff was able to access the website after clearing out their caches on their web browsers and replacing shortcuts linked to the website.
Stiles thought the website not showing up on Google could be a programming issue. He continues to work with Baker Brothers Printing, which designs and runs troubleshooting on the website.
