Student completes optometry degree

Heidi Nicole (Zogelman) Ensley graduated May 12 from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a doctor of optometry degree.

Her parents, Nick and Sharon Zogelman of Florence, attended the ceremony with her spouse, Richard Ensley.

The new optometrist has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Washburn University in Topeka.

While at the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry, Ensley was a member of the American Optometric Student Association and the Kansas Optometric Student Association from 2008 to 2012. She also was a member of the National Optometric Student Association from 2008 to 2011.

She plans to join a practice in Wichita and Arkansas City.
