Broadcasts about these fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper.

Jan. 14

12:00 p.m. — A toddler who swallowed some pills near Jade and 80th Rds., was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital by Marion ambulance. Peabody and Hillsboro ambulances also responded, but Hillsboro ambulance got stuck in mud en route to the child’s home. The ambulance was rescued by a tow truck.

2:17 p.m. — A patient from HCH was transferred to St. Francis, Wichita, by Hillsboro ambulance.

4:03 p.m. — A 67-year-old woman who fell in the 100 block of W. 7th St., Florence, was taken to St. Luke Hospital by Marion ambulance. A Florence first responder was also on scene.

5:06 p.m. — A diabetic man with low blood sugar in the 400 block of S. 4th St., Marion, was taken to St. Luke by Marion ambulance.

11:39 p.m. — A patient from St. Luke was transferred to Wesley Woodlawn, Wichita by Marion ambulance.

wednesday

3:38 a.m. — An 81-year-old woman who fell in the 300 block of Meadow Lane, Goessel, she was helped up and refused to be taken to a hospital by Hillsboro ambulance. Goessel first responders were also on scene.

7:27 a.m. — A 59-year-old woman who had an unknown medical emergency in the 400 block of S. Ash St., Hillsboro, was taken to HCH by Hillsboro ambulance.

8:36 a.m. — A person in the 1500 block of E. Main was taken to St. Luke on doctor orders by Marion ambulance.

11:42 a.m. — A patient from HCH was transferred to Salina Regional Health Center by Hillsboro ambulance.

3:26 p.m. — A 72-year-old woman who injured her knee jumping off a tailgate at Hillsboro Storage Units, was taken to Newton Medical Center by Hillsboro ambulance. Hillsboro firefighters were also called to help lift.

7:04 p.m. — A person from the 100 block of W. 7th St., Florence was taken to Newton Medical Center by Marion ambulance.

thursday

1:29 a.m. — A patient at Newton Medical Center was transferred to Peabody Health and Rehab by Hillsboro ambulance.

4:23 p.m. — A 38-year-old woman who overdosed in the 500 block of Lombard St., Lincolnville, was taken to St. Luke by Marion ambulance. A Lincolnville first responder and Tampa ambulance were also on scene.

4:54 p.m. — A 56-year-old man who was having problems getting up at Hilltop Manor, Marion, was taken to St. Luke by Hillsboro ambulance.

6:21 p.m. — A patient from St. Luke was transferred to Wesley Medical Center by Marion ambulance.

7:30 p.m. — A 91-year-old woman who had severe chest pains at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro, was taken to NMC by Hillsboro ambulance.

9:34 p.m. — A 71-year-old woman who had extreme stomach pain and was vomiting near Wagonwheel and 190th Rds., was taken to St. Luke by Marion ambulance.

friday

7:05 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance, Goessel firefighters and first responders, and Peabody rescue were called to a one-car accident near K-15 and 160th Rd. No one was injured and crews returned to their stations.

7:48 a.m. — Hillsboro and Peabody ambulance, firefighters and rescue were called to a one-vehicle accident near 120th and Indigo Rds. One person was taken to NMC by Hillsboro ambulance.

8:10 a.m. — A 73-year-old woman who was sleepy, unable to get out of bed and short of breath in the 200 block of S. Main St., Hillsboro, was taken to HCH by Hillsboro backup ambulance.

9:10 a.m. — Marion firefighters were called to an electrical pole that was on fire in the 100 block of N. Elm St., Marion.

9:12 a.m. — A woman who fell and hit her head in the 600 E. Marion St., Goessel, was taken to HCH by Hillsboro ambulance.

2:20 p.m. — A patient from HCH was transferred to NMC by Hillsboro ambulance. A woman who had a fever and elevated pulse near 140th and Falcon Rds., was taken to NMC by Hillsboro ambulance. A Goessel first responder and firefighters were also on scene.

7:17 p.m. — A resident at Peabody Health and Rehab was transferred to NMC by Marion ambulance.

11:32 p.m. — A patient from Newton Medical Center was transferred back to their home near 140th and Falcon Rds. by Hillsboro ambulance. Hillsboro ambulance got stuck on a muddy road en route to the patients home, and had to wait for a wrecker to come pull them out. Goessel firefighters were on stand-by to help with lifting assistance.

saturday

4:39 p.m. — A 16-year-old girl who had injured her back playing basketball at Centre High School, was taken to St. Luke by Tampa ambulance. Lincolnville first responders were also on scene.

7:58 p.m. — A 45-year-old woman who was having an anxiety attack near US-77 and 300th Rd., was taken to St. Luke by Tampa ambulance. Lincolnville first responders were also on scene.

sunday

12:06 a.m. — Marion firefighters were called near S. Roosevelt and Melvin Sts., Marion for smoke in the area. No fire was found, the smoke was from a fireplace.

8:34 a.m. — A patient from St. Luke was transferred to Wesley Medical Center by Marion ambulance.

11:32 a.m. — A patient from St. Luke was transferred to Wesley by Marion ambulance.

monday

11:23 a.m. — A 70-year-old woman who fell and needed help getting up in the 1400 block of Denver St., Marion, she was helped up and refused to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.

2:04 p.m. — A patient from St. Luke was transferred to Wesley Medical Center by Marion ambulance.

4:00 p.m. — A patient from HCH was transferred to Parkside Homes, Hillsboro, by Hillsboro ambulance.

4:12 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters were called to a vehicle that was smoking near Adams and C Sts.
