Broadcasts about these fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper.

Aug. 7

12:31 p.m. — Peabody fire was paged to respond to a general fire alarm at Westview Manor, but a firefighter was already on scene and told the rest to disregard.

1:02 p.m. — A patient from St. Luke Hospital was taken to Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita by Marion ambulance.

6:16 p.m. — A fire alarm was called in by an alarm company in the 500 block of Freeborn St., Marion. Firefighters from Marion responded and reported a false alarm.

6:31 p.m. — An elderly male was complaining of chest and back pain at Westview Manor, the patient refused to be taken to a hospital by Peabody ambulance.

7:58 p.m. — A patient at Hillsboro Community Hospital was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Wesley Pediatric in Wichita.

4:25 p.m. — A patient from St. Luke Hospital was taken to Newton Medical Center by Marion ambulance.

Thursday

11:20 a.m. — A male having a hard time breathing in the 300 block of 6th St. in Florence, was taken by Marion ambulance to NMC.

5:50 p.m. — A medical alarm was pressed in the 700 block of Ash St., Hillsboro. There was no patient at the residence and the alarm was reset by Hillsboro ambulance.

saturday

7:51 a.m. — A cardiac patient from St. Luke Hospital was taken to NMC by Marion ambulance.

10:05 a.m. — A vehicle was on fire north of Marion on Hwy 77, Marion fire responded and returned to the station 11:22 a.m.

11:39 a.m. — An 84-year-old female was weak and unable to stand in the 200 block of Willow Rd., Hillsboro. Patient was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita by Hillsboro ambulance.

2:32 p.m. — A male collapsed at the wheel of his semi in the area of 230th and K-15. He was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

3:38 p.m. — A 33-year-old male rolled his motorcycle by the Marion airport, Marion’s ambulance and rescue responded to the scene. The male subject was taken by private vehicle to Casey’s, where the ambulance met him, and he refused to be transported to a hospital.

8:54 p.m. — A 16 year-old-male had wrecked in a ditch in the area of 140th and Pawnee Rds., Peabody ambulance, Marion fire and rescue. Patient was taken by Peabody ambulance to St. Luke.

sunday

10:46 a.m. — Peabody and Marion ambulances responded to the area of Old Mill Rd. to a person that may have been hit by a train along the railroad tracks. Peabody fire also responded to help with pulling the victim out of a steep ditch.

3:48 p.m. — A 96-year-old female with chest pains and difficulty breathing in the 200 block of Willow Rd., was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.

monday

7:05 p.m. — An elderly individual had fallen at the Indian Guide Apartments in Peabody, patient refused to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.
