Dec. 13

6:36 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance was paged for a car accident initially described as being east of Hillsboro on US-56, but was unavailable. Tampa ambulance responded to the actual location of mile marker 284, west of Lehigh, but no transportation was provided.

Dec. 14

3:28 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance was called to the 300 block of Willow Rd. for a man who reportedly appeared to be mixed up and having difficulty walking. He was transported to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

4:10 p.m. — Marion ambulance responded to St. Luke Hospital for a patient with chest pains. The patient was transported to Newton Medical Center.

thursday

8:10 a.m. — Marion ambulance responded to E. 190th Rd. between Timber and Upland Rds. for a man who was lying on the ground. A coroner was called to the scene.

11:30 a.m. — Marion ambulance transferred a patient from St. Luke to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

friday

7:46 a.m. — Goessel fire was called to a telephone pole reportedly on fire at K-15 and 120th Rds. Westar was also called.

8:35 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance responded to the 100 block of N. Wilson St. for a man who was feeling weak. He was transported to HCH.

1:58 p.m. — Marion fire was called to Casey’s General Store for a truck on fire. The fire was put out, so Marion fire was dismissed.

7:55 p.m. — Marion ambulance was called to the 200 block of Walnut St. for a man who was released from the hospital who reportedly was unable to get back into his home.

9:59 p.m. — Marion was called back to the same home in the 200 block of Walnut St. after the man reported he was not feeling right. Marion did not have two responders, so Hillsboro responded. No transportation was provided.

saturday

3:30 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance was first called to the 600 block of S. Lincoln St. in Marion for a fall, but was then redirected to Hillsboro. A person was transported to HCH.

4:20 p.m. —EMS director Ed Debasis initially told dispatchers that on US-77 a vehicle had hit a guardrail between 160th and 170th Rds., but was later changed to between 270th and 280th Rds. No one was found inside the vehicle according to dispatches. At 5:09 p.m., sheriff’s sergant Mike Ottensmeyer reported finding the collision Debasis came across earlier where a man was complaining of a “goose egg” and a little bit of blood in his hair. He refused transport.

6:10 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance responded to the 400 block of Locust St. in Marion for a woman having chest pains. She was transported to St. Luke.

7:07 p.m. — Hillsboro fire, Hillsboro ambulance, Marion fire, and Goessel fire were called to Holly Rd. between 190th and 180th Rds. in Hillsboro for a chimney fire. Hillsboro fire told dispatchers they had it under control, so Goessel fire and Marion fire were dismissed.

sunday

10:17 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance responded to the 600 block of S. Lincoln St. for an unspecified reason. A person was transported to HCH.

monday

12:32 p.m. — Marion ambulance responded to the 1500 block of Victory Ln. for a woman who had fallen and was complaining of hip pain. She was transported to St. Luke.

1:49 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance was called to Newton Medical Center for a transfer back to HCH.

2:23 p.m. — Marion ambulance responded to Parkside Homes in Hillsboro for a man who had fallen and was complaining of hip pain. He was transported to HCH.

2:46 p.m. — Hillsboro fire was called to Holly Rd. between 180th and 190th Rd. for a report of a gas odor in a vacant home. They were dismissed after gas was not found.

4:47 p.m. — Hillsboro fire were called to Tabor College townhouses after an alarm company called and said a smoke detector and water flow alarm was going off. No fire was found.

5:00 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance told dispatchers they were at HCH to perform a transfer to Newton Medical.

5:45 p.m. — Marion fire was called to the 400 block of W. Santa Fe St. for a fire reportedly caused by someone trying to thaw frozen water pipes. Firefighters verified the fire had been extinguished.

8:48 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance performed an advanced-life-support transfer from HCH to Via Christi — St. Francis.

9:05 p.m. — Marion first response and Peabody ambulance responded to the 200 block of Walnut St. in Marion for a person having chest pains. Peabody ambulance was told to disregard after the person refused transport.
