Emergency dispatches

According to fire and ambulance transmissions, monitored by the newspaper:

dec. 2

8:47 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a man in his 80s from Bethesda Homes to Newton Medical Center.

11:51 a.m. — Peabody ambulance was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of W. 7th and Marion Sts. in Florence. The call terminated when a Florence first-responder reported the potential patient refused transportation.

6:39 p.m. — Peabody ambulance transported a woman in her 60s who fell and hit her head, knee, and shoulder from Peabody Care Center to Newton Medical Center.

7:42 p.m. — Florence ambulance transported a woman with severe stomach pains from the 100 block of W. 4th St. to St. Luke Hospital.

9:33 p.m. — After pages determined advanced life support crews were not available in Marion or Peabody, Hillsboro ambulance provided ALS transport of a patient from St. Luke Hospital to Wesley Medical Center.

11:46 p.m. — Marion ambulance responded to the 1500 block of Lawrence St. for an elderly woman with shortness of breath. The woman was transported to St. Luke Hospital.

dec. 3

10:46 a.m. — A sheriff’s deputy requested Burns first responders and Peabody ambulance to respond on stand-by status to the 100 block of S. Washington St. in Burns. At 10:59 a.m, the dispatcher advised responders to terminate the call.

thursday

2:14 p.m. — Burns firefighters responded to a grass fire in Butler County.

2:23 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to a field fire on Alamo Rd. between 270th and 280th Rds.

2:34 p.m. — Peabody firefighters responded to a gas leak west of Peabody State Bank on 1st St.

11:20 p.m. — Florence ambulance was placed on standby for a report of a domestic dispute in the 300 block of W. 3rd St. The ambulance was released from the scene at 11:45 p.m.

friday

6:22 a.m. — Peabody ambulance transported a woman with chest pains and shortness of breath from the 100 block of E. 9th St. in Florence to Newton Medical Center.

10:00 a.m. — Marion ambulance transported a woman in her 70s with chest pain from the parking lot of September Apartments to St. Luke Hospital.

5:44 p.m. — Peabody ambulance transported a woman in her 80s who fell and cut her head from Peabody Care Center to Newton Medical Center.

8:35 p.m. — Peabody Ambulance transported a woman in her 60s from Peabody Care Center to Newton Medical Center.

9:19 p.m. — Marion ambulance transported a woman in her 70s having difficulty breathing from Mustang Rd. between 150th and 160th Rds. to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

10:25 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a woman with a leg laceration from the 300 block of N. Jefferson St. The newspaper’s system did not record additional calls related to this dispatch.

10:29 p.m. — At the request of Chase County, Florence ambulance was dispatched for an elderly man with chest pains on Clover Rd. in Chase County. A Chase County ambulance was en route but slowed by dense fog. The newspaper’s system did not record additional calls related to this dispatch.

saturday

5:59 a.m. — Goessel first responders and Hillsboro ambulance responded to 130th Rd. between Alamo and Bison Rds. for a report of a man in his 70s laying beside the west side of a house. Additional calls from Hillsboro ambulance were not recorded by the newspaper’s system until 8:39 a.m, when they reported being released from a scene. It was uncertain if this transmission was related to the initial dispatch.

sunday

7:21 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a woman in her 90s with chest pains and vomiting from Parkside Homes to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

8:54 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a woman in her 70s with possible cardiac arrest from the 400 block of N. Ash St. to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

monday

12:15 a.m. — Marion ambulance transported a woman in her 80s who was unconscious from the 500 block of N. Freeborn St. to St. Luke Hospital. Marion firefighters provided lifting assistance.

10:00 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a patient from Salem Homes to Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital.

10:24 a.m. — Peabody ambulance and Burns first responders assisted a man in his 80s with sore feet and back pain in the 100 block of N. Winfield Ave. in Burns. The man was transported to Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.

4:48 p.m. — Marion ambulance transported a patient from St. Luke Hospital to Via Christi St. Francis Hospital.
