Elsie Kelsey
Elsie Mae Kelsey, 83, of Holton died Friday at her daughter’s home after a short battle with cancer. She was born April 21, 1930, in Peabody to Frank H. and Ethel P. (Hauser) Fisher.
She attended school in Peabody and lived in Culver from 1966 to 1992 before moving to Holton. She worked as a CAN and CMA in Minneapolis and Bennington. She was a member of First Christian Church in Holton.
She married Wayne Riley Kelsey on May 21, 1950, in Marion. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ray Crowninshield.
She is survived by two sons, Calvin Kelsey of Assaria and Charles Kelsey of Salina; five daughters, Juanita “Jo” Krogman of Holton, Sandra Barnes of El Mirage, Ariz., Rhonda Base of Ada, Susan LaMastus of Holton, and Alisa Crowninshield of Minneapolis; a sister, Faye Helmuth of Loveland, Colo.; a brother, Duane Fisher of Casa Grande, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday at Minneapolis First United Methodist Church, Minneapolis. Graveside services were Tuesday at Marion Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with Jackson County Friends of Hospice.
