Ellen Bruner

Ellen “Colleen” (McIntosh) Bruner, 78, beloved mom who worked in banking all her life, passed away Aug. 27, 2017.

Colleen was preceded in death by daughter Mary Elizabeth Bruner; parents Robert Eugene and Marvel McIntosh; and brothers Darwin and Bennie McIntosh.

She is survived by brother Elvin McIntosh; children Gail Murrow and husband, Richard; Linda Ebersole; Shelly Jones and husband, Darren; and Michael Bruner; grandchildren Allison and Natalie Murrow; Robin Ebersole and wife, Melinda; and Fin, Brook, and Brie Jones; great-grandchildren Taylor and Payten Ebersole; and Bob Bruner, father of her children.

Colleen loved and worked hard to take care of her kids. She took great delight in her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She’ll be remembered for how much she loved her work in the small community banks in Florence and Burns where she got to know everybody in that way that can only happen in small towns. Her coworkers were like family to her and her community was always there for her. She was a fixture on Main Street that spread a little circle of light that will be missed now that it has been absorbed into the heavens.

Her family wants to thank all those friends who have been there for her over the years and up through her final illness.

A funeral was 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, at the Methodist Church in Burns, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita. Baker Funeral Home - Wichita Chapel
