Elgin birthday party is Saturday

There’s a 131st birthday celebration Saturday at the Historic Elgin Hotel, and the public is invited to drop by between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to join in the festivities.

“It’s not mine, thankfully,” owner Tammy Ensey said. “Our trusty old Elgin is having a birthday.

Snacks and beverages will be served, and visitors will be able to see portions of the building that aren’t booked with weekend guests.
