EHS 50th reunion has county ties

The 50th Emporia High School reunion for the class of 1958 was held the weekend of Sept. 13 at Emporia.

Members met Sept. 12 to renew acquaintances at the Guest House Inn.

A tour of the William Allen White House followed by a tour of the Granada Theater took place Sept. 13. A dinner for the attendees was held at the country club that evening.

There were 79 classmates in attendance. Those attending with connections to Peabody and Florence were Marilyn (Holman) and Keith Harsh of Peabody; Betty (Schmidt) Selby of Emporia, niece to Elda Mellott; Ann (Truax) and Bob Moench of Hurley, Mo., cousin to Pauline and Vada Ann McPheeters; and Nelta (Britton) Harder of Emporia, sister to Linda Britton.
