Retired Raytheon electrical engineer Edwin J. Tajchman of Garland, Texas, died Dec. 19.

Born March 2, 1934, to Joseph T. and Rose (Oborny) Tajchman of Pilsen, he graduated from Ramona High School and served in the Army. He received a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and a doctorate from Denver University, both in electrical engineering.

He married Peggy Tillotson while they were both students at KSU.

As chief of engineering at Computer Image, he accepted a 1973 Emmy award for computer animation. In 1987, he took a job with Raytheon in Garland, Texas, retiring in 2010.

He was preceded in death by wife Peggy; son Tim; and sisters Anna Marie Miller and Irene Tajchman.

He is survived by sons Ron Tajchman of Garland and Gary Tajchman of Mansfield, Massachusetts; daughter Margaret Tajchman of Garland; brother Joe T. Tajchman of Marion; and two grandchildren.

A funeral mass was Dec. 28 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Richardson, Texas.
