Earl Mueller

Services for former county commissioner and Cardie Oil president Earl G. Mueller, 88, who died Tuesday at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Newton.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton. Relatives will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Burial with military honors will be in Tampa Lutheran Cemetery.

Born Oct. 19, 1932, in Newton to Gerhard and Johanna Ruth (Utech) Mueller, he married Eloise Bynum on April 12, 1958, at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

He was a graduate of Tampa High School, attended the former St. John’s College in Winfield, and served in the Army.

Survivors include wife Eloise of the home in Newton, son Craig Mueller, daughter Rochelle Mueller, and a grandson.

Brothers Paul and Norman Mueller and sister Lenora Becker preceded him in death.

Memorials have been established with Zion Lutheran Church; St. John’s Lutheran Church, Tampa, and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
