Drug raids net five arrests in Peabody

Staff writer

Area law enforcement executed search warrants Saturday night at two Peabody residences where several subjects were arrested and illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia were seized.

The first took place at 401 N. Vine St., Peabody. One person was arrested and an arrest is pending for a second individual.

Pending charges for both subjects are possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of precursor chemicals, and manufacturing a controlled substance.

A second warrant was served on four subjects at 611 N. Maple St., Peabody.

Law enforcement officers arrested one adult and three juveniles at the residence.

A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia is pending against all four with an additional charge of possession of marijuana pending against two of the juveniles.

Additional charges may be forthcoming.

The adults were booked into Marion County Jail. The juveniles were turned over to Juvenile Intake Assessment through Marion County.

“I want to emphasize that this was a cooperative effort for law enforcement,” Peabody Police Chief Bruce Burke said. “All of our local officers took part and we had the assistance of officers from the Marion Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.”
