Douglas Pearce

Douglas James Pearce, 24, of Whitewater, died April 19, 2009, at his home.

Born Aug. 15, 1984, in Newton, he was the son of James and Elizabeth (Busenitz) Pearce.

He attended Berean Academy, Frontier School of the Bible in LaGrange, Wyo., and was active in Campus Crusade for Christ.

His grandparents, James and Hope Pearce and Susie Busenitz, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his parents of Whitewater; three brothers, Jared Pearce of Benton, Anthony Pearce of Emporia, and Randall Pearce of Whitewater; and his grandfather, Walter Busenitz of Whitewater.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater.

Burial is at 9 a.m. Friday at Schaffer Cemetery, rural Butler County.

A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Berean Academy, Elbing.

A memorial fund has been established with Campus Crusade for Christ in care of the funeral home, PO Box 358, Whitewater KS 67154.
