Doris Jane Heidel, 81, died Nov. 10, 2011, at Newton Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 10, 1930, to Ed F. and Linda May (Reimer) Jost in Goessel. On Aug. 9, 1951, she married V.L. Doc Heidel in Hillsboro. He preceded her in death in 1996.

She was a retired co-owner of Jost Plumbing and Heating. She was a member of First Mennonite Church.

She is survived by an adopted son, Matt Hiebert of Hillsboro; a daughter, Sidney Bolstad of Newton; an adopted daughter, Valerie Steavenson of Emporia; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service was Monday at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro, officiated by Pastor Susan Jantzen. Burial was at Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro. The family received guests Sunday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
