Donald Bloomer

Only three short months after his wife’s passing, a loving couple was reunited in heaven. Donald J. Bloomer joined his beloved wife, Parlee, on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010. On Sept. 11 they will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary.

He was born Nov. 27, 1937 to Henry and Caroline (Peterson) Bloomer in Peabody. He is survived by Marcia Sebree and Bruce of Oakley, Ill.; Janet Rosine and Randy of Duncan, Okla.; Donna Glover and Steven of Peabody; John Bloomer and Cora of Peabody; Mary Russell and Jesse of Newton; April Deichen and Herb of Wichita; Carol Piland of Peabody; Dorthy Brown and Gary of Fort Scott; Shirley Solomon and Clinton of Peabody; Sharon Smith and Mike of Newton; Karen Voth and Larry of Moundridge; Leonard Bloomer and Laurie of Topeka; and eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Michael, his parents, and a sister, Barbara.

He served in the Kansas National Guard. He was a supporter of his children’s youth activities and other community youth events. He was a member of Peabody United Methodist Church.

Services were Tuesday at Peabody United Methodist Church. Visitation was Monday at Peabody United Methodist Church. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of Kansas, 301 N Main, Suite 107, Newton, KS 67114; and Peabody United Methodist Church, 403 Sycamore, Peabody, KS 66866.
